National association of COllege and University Residence Halls (NACURH)

NACURH is considered to be the largest student run organization in the world. It is completely student run, in all of the national and regional positions. It brings together over 400 schools from the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Australia and is split up into eight regional affiliates. These regions are CAACURH, GLACURH, IACURH, MACURH, NEACURH, PACURH, SAACURH, and SWACURH.

NACURH promotes living on campus as an integral part of the college experience, and strives to provide resources to help member schools create the ultimate residence hall environment and experience.

Nacurh information center (NIC)

The NACURH Information Center serves as the headquarters office of the national organization. The NIC, like the rest of NACURH, is entirely student-run by staff from the host institution. Responsibilities of the office include this website, handling all affiliation and dues issues, publishing the NACURH Network at least five times a year, granting voting rights at conferences, promoting the organization to prospective members, and making all reports and bids in the Resource File Index available to member schools.

Resource File Index (RFI)

The Resource File Index contains several thousand documents written by students from member schools over the fifty-year history of NACURH. For convenience, the RFI is divided into several categories. These categories contain all of the reports submitted by member schools each year, broken down by topic area. There are other documents, such as award bids, that the NIC recieves as well. Both types of documents are available for ordering by registered schools.

NACURH Service and recognition office (nsro)

It is the purpose of the NSRO to manage the non-technical services of the National Association of College and University Residence Halls.

To that end the NSRO staff facilitates the Of-The-Month (OTM) process and maintains the OTM database; as well as providing merchandise that can be purchased by members of NACURH, including members of the NACURH Honorary, the National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH).

Furthermore, the staff of the NSRO continues to develop and expand a range of services to support and advance the many members schools and organizations affiliated with NACURH.

The Director of MACURH is in essence, the head of the organization. It is their responsibility to ensure that MACURH is following and upholding the NACURH, Inc. policies. The Director represents the Midwest Affiliate on national matters and as a voting member of the National Board of Directors. The Director leads the Regional Board of Directors in all of their projects and tasks. S/he is also responsible for running the board rooms where business is done at all of the MACURH conferences. The position of Director is by far one of the most challenging positions a student leader involved with NACURH, Inc. can hold, however it is one of the most rewarding.

Associate Director for Finance and Records (ADFR)

The Associate Director for Finance and Records is responsible for the financial records of MACURH which include budget maintenance, checkbook balancing, and check writing. The ADFR is also responsible for sending monthly financial statements to the National Associate for Finance, the National Advisor, the Regional Director, and the Regional Advisor.  He or she is also responsible for maintaining a current record of member affiliation status, maintaining and distributing an updated mailing list at least two times a year, and for maintaining and annually updating the MACURH Policy Book and the MACURH By-Laws.

Associate Director of Programming (AD-Programming)

They serve as a consultant to the MACURH conference programming staff, helping coordinate programming sessions and assisting with the setup of MACURH-U. They help PCCs and other campus programmers to prepare and submit quality programs to the MACURH and NACURH conferences. They run the MACURH and No Frills PCC boardrooms, where the PCCs vote on several regional awards and the MACURH Programming Grant. Most importantly, the AD-Programming is a resource available nearly 24/7 to help PCCs and other programmers with all of their programming needs.

Regional Associate Director of NRHH (RAD-NRHH)

The RAD-NRHH is the main link between NRHH and the rest of the region. As an RBD member, the RAD coordinates the regional OTM Committee to grade the submitted Of-the-Month Awards, works to recruit member schools into NRHH, serves as a link between NRHH and the NSRO, coordinates case studies at the regional conference, represents MACURH on a national level including attendance at the NRHH RAD Conference, and is responsible for all regional and national NRHH awards.

Any questions from member schools in those sub regions are usually directed to their RCC who will then direct them to other RBD members if necessary. Other job qualifications include hosting bi-weekly chats with their sub region, hosting a pre-retreat before each conference, and working with the RCC-Special Projects as well as the other Geographic RCCs on anything pertaining to affiliation.

Regional Conference Chairs

There are two conferences each year which are hosted by two different schools. One of these is the Regional MACURH Conference and the other is the No Frills Business Conference. As Conference Chairs, these individuals are required to work with their Conference Staff to ensure their school hosts their appropraite conference. They are also required to keep in constant contact with the RBD and give updates to the region. Once the conference has ended the conference chairs will be in charge of developing a wrap-up report which will go to the director as well as the upcoming conference staffs.

Regional Advisors

The Regional Advisors are a resource and tool for all of the region. Not only are they there for the RBD, but they are also there for the consultation by NCCs, officers, and other personal at member schools. They are to relay historical information to the RBD and help maintain historical perspective and are responsible for making sure that regional officers fulfill their duties.

National Communications CoordinAtors (NCCs)

A NCC is one of the essential positions on a university Residence Hall Association's executive board. The NCC is the primary means of communication between his or her RHA and NACURH. The NCC does this by maintaining the schools affiliation status, choosing delegations to go to conferences, serving as the RHA's vote in conferences (if an affiliated member), and relaying information and networking opportunities to the RHA from NACURH. The NCC could be part of the executive board or be a member of the RHA. This is dependent on the structure of the school's RHA.

PCCs are student representatives from schools in the Midwest that deal with programming matters during regional conferences. During conference they discuss awards such as Program of the Year (POY) and the Student Award for Leadership Training (SALT), select the next AD-Programming (at each No Frills), vote on programming grants, and discuss other programming related issues. PCCs also send in monthly reports about programming and are in charge of organizing projects for the regional philanthropy specific to their campus.
